As an alloy additive, it is mainly used in the production of nitrogenous stainless steel. Nitrogenous ferrochrome is mainly composed of Cr N, Cr2N, Fe4N and other nitrogen compounds. Moreover, it is possible to generate compound nitride (Cr,Fe)2N(1-x) of ferrochrome. The main factors affecting the composition of its phase are nitridation medium and nitrification temperature.
